In dealing with
kids, it helps to use the Priority Mapping Principle.
When little Aditi wants
to play in the hot sun(sports) we deflect her by offering ice cream(food).
Whereas if she's going for too many chocolates, I offer to play with her.
However, if she
is yearning for ice cream then offering chocolate is futile because both of
them are in same category (food) and at that moment ice cream is at priority 1.
